Who We Are

The Hinckley Retriever Club is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to train retrievers for AKC field trials and hunt tests, and as enjoyable companions in the field.  Our purpose is to educate and to train our members on how to develop their personal dogs into the best dogs they can be, whether for competition or hunting dogs.

We hold four events each year at the Kettle River Retriever Grounds, which is about 15 minutes northeast of Hinckley, MN.

Our field trial events are in June and August.  The June trial is a double Derby/Qualifying event.  The August trial offers Open All-Age and Amateur All-Age stakes.

Our hunt test events are in July and Labor Day weekend (most years).  The July event offers two Junior Hunter and two Senior Hunter stakes.  Our Labor Day weekend features a Master Hunter, two Senior Hunter and two Junior Hunter stakes.

Our members range from folks who have been training and trialing for decades to newcomers who are training their first puppy.  All are welcome!
